Harvard College offered its students many advantages as undergraduates, but a close connection with each other wasn’t one of them. Exchanging stories with each other about what it was like as very young adults to be living in an intimidating and impersonal educational institution like Harvard was not on the curriculum.
To encourage even more personal stories at my fiftieth reunion in 2016, I asked a number of my classmates in advance to tell me what Harvard felt like to them back then, and what it looked like them to them now, from the far side of their lives.
